Global Citizenship Awards – The Global Citizenship Award recognizes Grade 12 students who have engaged in meaningful global citizenship activities aimed at making a more just and sustainable world. We recognize global citizens who understand that their actions make a difference, here and around the world and act as leaders in making positive change.
Model United Nations Assembly (MUNA) – High school students, with their counsellors/teachers, take on global citizenship as they model the United Nations Assembly at an event in Winnipeg, Canada. The 2018 Assembly took place in early May at the Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg, Manitoba. High school students, along with their counsellors, take on global citizenship as they simulate the United Nations Assembly. A video of 2017’s proceedings is available here. University of Manitoba Glassen Ethics Essay Contest – $1000 prize for best philosophical essay under 1000 words by a grade 11 or 12 student in Manitoba. Winning essay will be published in the Winnipeg Free Press. The deadline for the 2018 essay contest has passed. Information (including the contest questions and entry information) for the 2019 contest will be posted when available.
