Manitoba Grants for Education for Sustainable Development 2019 – Manitoba Education and Training and Manitoba Hydro continue to offer Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) Grants to promote sustainability in classrooms. Manitoba Education and Training and Manitoba Hydro want to support schools in which educators work together to plan and teach ESD. The grants will provide up to $2000 to cover expenses, such as teacher release time, professional development, and teaching/learning resources for sustainability education. Manitoba Education and Training staff will also provide grant recipients with planning support. The 2018 process has now closed. Please check back in late 2018 for information on the 2019 bursary criteria and selection process.
Global Citizenship Awards – The Global Citizenship Award for Educators is an initiative of MCIC to recognize Manitoba teachers and administrators who have been leaders in promoting global citizenship. Awards will be given to one recipient in each of the following categories: Middle years teachers, High school teachers, and Administrators (including Principals, Vice Principals, Superintendents, Trustees and other divisional or Manitoba Education staff). Applications are open until March 11, 2019.
